Too many goodbyes (Poetry)

Goodbye to the girl who filled me with hopes,
who got me turning to curves and slopes.
Too many lies were thrown
Too many calls on the phone.

Goodbye to everything we once knew;
to the good, the bad, the old and new.
Too many things left unsaid,
Too many words inside my head.

Goodbye to our awkward moment,
and to the talks that revealed our heart’s content.
Too many days to extend,
Too many nights that had to end.

Goodbye to what I thought was us,
all the fights, the laughs and the fuss.
Too many surprises were made,
Too many times I wished you stayed.

You made no reply

You made no reply
Poetry by : Barry Arriola

I got to you on a stormy night,
while the winds whispered and the moon was bright.
I turned to you with a warm smile
you turned around at the aisle
you spoke of hate with a soft cry,
I ask "what's wrong?",you made no reply.

The winds grew louder and it all went dim,
your eyes silent, and smile so grim
I stood cold and lost in thought,
and wondered hard, what fate has brought
My mind ran with thoughts of why,
I held your hand, you made no reply.

The moon hid behind his cloud.
the rain poured down and loud.
I stood puzzled and still,
the very smile silence had kill.
You looked at me with a smile so shy,
I smiled back, you made no reply.

then lightning lit our awkward seconds,
you stayed close as thunder beckons.
I held you tight as the rains slowly stirred,
you turned to me as the feeling blurred.
Your eyes filled with tears gone dry,
and then you kissed me, I made no reply.

Forever, that's what you said (Poetry)

FOREVER, that's what you said.

by : Barry Arriola

In every story, I wish I could see the ending
No need to rush, let's stop pretending.
"Once upon a time" didn't really happen
and everything else were lies from a pen.

We were so in love, let's admit.
And as time went by, we dare not quit.
Those crazy lines that we used to trade,
and those parting words that didn't fade.

They used to tell me, forever's written in fairy tales.
Written in songs with their perfect scales
And yes, forever only happens in storybooks.
No matter how hard I write, It's not as easy as it looks.

So begins this storybook routine.
and as always,I'm caught in between.
I tried to escape the tears and laughter.
For us to reach that happy ever after.

Chasing dreams is such a sore,
the fights we had, we just can't ignore.
Now, the words are stuck in my head.
Forever... that's what you said.

Dear Coffee (Poetry)

DEAR COFFEE
           by : Barry Arriola

Dear Coffee,

It's been a while since i last had a drink,
since then, my mind staled and i couldn't think.
Every morning, I used to have a cup or two.
But now I know, it ain't the same without you.

Gone are the days, when you warmed my nights,
while you kept me awake with party lights.
The house music that filled the rhythm air,
and how I could take a cup just about anywhere.

You got me sitting here, making coffee stains,
while i gazed at the rain through these glass panes.
It used to be so fun filling my cup,
As I drink and sip til the last drop.

You've been hanging out with that milk and tea,
and now I can't seem to make sense of me.
With those cubes of ice, they would shake,
As the thoughts of you kept me awake.

As I sit and write this letter,
I begin to realize how my world grew bitter.
I don't want that latte, nor that cappuccino,
I just need that plain coffee, just so you know.

I want you to know, we're the perfect blend,
and that this letter, is from your friend.

The dreams of you are with this dreamer.

Lovingly yours,
Your Creamer
