You made no reply

You made no reply
Poetry by : Barry Arriola

I got to you on a stormy night,
while the winds whispered and the moon was bright.
I turned to you with a warm smile
you turned around at the aisle
you spoke of hate with a soft cry,
I ask "what's wrong?",you made no reply.

The winds grew louder and it all went dim,
your eyes silent, and smile so grim
I stood cold and lost in thought,
and wondered hard, what fate has brought
My mind ran with thoughts of why,
I held your hand, you made no reply.

The moon hid behind his cloud.
the rain poured down and loud.
I stood puzzled and still,
the very smile silence had kill.
You looked at me with a smile so shy,
I smiled back, you made no reply.

then lightning lit our awkward seconds,
you stayed close as thunder beckons.
I held you tight as the rains slowly stirred,
you turned to me as the feeling blurred.
Your eyes filled with tears gone dry,
and then you kissed me, I made no reply.
